Day 1 Marrakech – Tizi n’Tichka Pass- Dades Valley

We will pick you up in your riad to begin your journey to the Dades Valley traveling the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass over the High Atlas Mountains. Here you will gasp with delight as you round a curve to view a new vista. We will stop in Ouarzazate to visit the beautiful Kasbah Taourirt,. You’ll have lunch by the Kasbah and continue to the Dades Gorge on the road of “The Thousand Kasbahs”, which offers many photo opportunities.. We will stop in Skoura in the birds valley to see the 18th century Kasbah of Ameridhil. Then we’ll go to Kalaat Mgouna, famous for its Rose Festival. n May.  On to the Dades Valley where you will enjoy seeing the amazing rock formations known as “the monkey toes”. Overnight in a riad in Dades Gorge.

Day 2 Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga – Desert

We leave the beautiful gorge and begin out journey to Merzouga. We will make a stop at the Todra Gorge with its 300 meter red walls that beg for climbing or enjoying. We will take a two hour walk where you will meet and greet locals and learn the Berber culture and geography. We will leave for Merzouga where your camel awaits you for a trek across the Erg Chebbi to experience the desert landscape and listen to the sounds of silence until we reach camp. Here you will witness a spectacular sunset, have a meal prepared using ancient techniques, and lay on your back to experience a sky filled with millions of stars that you feel you can reach up and touch. You will sleep the night as a nomad in your tent.

Day 3 Desert – Merzouga area – Ouarzazate

Will find you being awakened very early for the desert sunrise before we mount our camels and return to Merzouga. You will fall in love on the trip back as the early morning light changes the colors of the “Golden Dunes”. After breakfast, we continue our journey to explore the area around Merzouga visiting the lake and seeing the beautiful flamingos if it is the correct time of year. You will visit also goat hair nomad tents and learn about the desert life. We will visit the Gnawa people and have the opportunity to listen to their music and learn about their culture and lifestyle which they brought from Sudan. From Merzouga we will travel to Rissani market and then to Ouarzazate by way of Draa Valley to spend the night.

Day 4 Ouarzazat – Ait ben Haddou Kasbah – Telouet Kasbah – Marrakech

We begin our journey back to Marrakech. Our first stop is at a UNESCO site, Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest in Morocco built by the last Berber chieftain in the 19th century. We will have lunch by the Kasbah. On to Ounila valley and Kasbah Telouet where you will enjoy the moon-like landscape sharply contrasting the Berber villages and the Atlas Mountains. Your journey will continue through the majestic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains before arriving at your accommodation in Marrakech where the tour ends.
